Olisur, Chile’s leading olive oil producer, has received Non-GMO Project Verification for O-live, Santiago, and Nova Oliva Extra Virgin Olive Oil. According to a recent Consumer Reports study, more than 70% of Americans say they don’t want genetically modified organisms (GMO) in their food – but over 80% of processed foods contain them. GMOs have not been properly tested for human safety and present a danger to people and the environment. Olisur’s Non-GMO Project Verification seal applied to the extra virgin olive oil products comes after careful evaluation and testing, and confirms the company’s commitment to producing the healthiest possible products.
“Our goal at Olisur is to create a better tasting olive oil that is both good for your health and for the health of the environment,” said Claudio Lovazzano A., Marketing & Product Development Manager. “Non-GMO Project Verification is just one more validation for our efforts. We are proud of our team for continuously striving for higher quality standards and crafting olive oils that people can feel good about choosing.”
Olisur’s sustainability efforts can we found in all aspects of their growing and bottling process. Olisur was recently recognized as being carbon neutral, due to their efforts in recycling the byproducts of their olives and reapplying this into the soil as an organic fertilizer.
